1925 LOUIS VUITTON CIGAR TRUNK


IN 1925 LUXURY TRUNK MAKER LOUIS VUITTON CREATED A SPECIAL ONE OF A KIND TRUNK IN ITS ICONIC MONOGRAM CANVAS TO HOUSE A PORTABLE SET OF 'ENCYCLOPAEDIA BRITTANICA' FOR A TRAVELING STUDENT. A LATER OWNER OF THE UNIQUE CASE ADAPTED IT TO A MORE PRACTICAL PURPOSE AND TURNED IT INTO A PORTABLE HUMIDOR. THE TRUNK WAS REFITTED BY THE ARTISANS AT LOUIS VUITTON TO HOUSE 500 CIGARS IN REMOVABLE BOXES LINED WITH SEASONED SPANISH CEDAR ALONG WITH REMOVABLE HUMIDOR IN BURLED AMERICAN WALNUT. THE LID OF THE TRUNK HAS BEEN LINED IN SPANISH CEDAR AS WELL AND INSET WITH A DECORATIVE BURLED WALNUT PANELS. LONDON'S PULLMAN GALLERY IN OFFERING THE STUNNING ONE OF A KIND PIECES FOR $27,800.
