PRINCE WILLIAM TO PRESENT FELLOWSHIP AWARD TO VANESSA REDGRAVE


PRINCE WILLIAM WILL PRESENT AN ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP AWARD TO VETERAN ACTRESS VANESSA REDGRAVE AT THIS YEAR'S BAFTAS, ACCORDING TO ACADEMY SOURCES. THE 27 YEAR OLD IS MAKING HIS FIRST APPEARANCE AT THE ORANGE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS, THE BRITISH FILM INDUSTRY'S BIGGEST AWARDS NIGHT. THE PRINCE AND HIS BROTHER HARRY ARE INCREASINGLY TAKING ON MORE HIGH-PROFILE ENGAGEMENTS. HARRY RECORDED A VIDEO MESSAGE FOR THE RECENT BRITS AWARDS CEREMONY WHICH HONORED A HOST OF POP STARS FROM LADY GAGA TO JLS, WHILE WILLIAM WILL BE AMONG GLOBAL MOVIE STARS AT THE BAFTAS CEREMONY BEING STAGED AT LONDON'S ROYAL OPERA HOUSE ON SUNDAY. THE FELLOWSHIP RECOGNIZES AN INDIVIDUALS OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO FILM. REDGRAVE, WHO LOST HER DAUGHTER, NATASHA RICHARDSON, IN A SKYING ACCIDENT LAST YEAR, HAS HAD A LONG AND SUCCESSFUL MOVIE CAREER. SHE EARNED AND OSCAR NOMINATION FOR HER 1967 FILM 'MORGAN: A SUITABLE CASE FOR TREATMENT' AND COLLECTED THE BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS OSCAR IN 1977 FOR 'JULIA', IN WHICH SHE PORTRAYED A JEWISH WOMAN MURDERED BY THE NAZIS. SPEAKING LAST WEEK, REDGRAVE SAID OF HER FELLOWSHIP: 'I'M TRULY DELIGHTED, IT'S SUCH AN HONOUR TO BE RECOGNIZED IN THIS WAY.'
