DANISH SOLDIER PASSES OUT AT ROYAL GALA
FOR ONE SOLDIER, THE PROSPECT OF MEETING A MEMBER OF ROYALTY WAS TOO OVERWHELMING. THE ROYAL GUARD FELL FORWARD LANDING WITH A LOUD ECHOING THUD, AFTER FAINTING BEFORE THE ARRIVAL CEREMONY BEGAN FOR A RECENT GALA DINNER HOSTED BY THE DANISH QUEEN AND HER HUSBAND. THE YOUNG SOLDIER HAD BEEN WAITING IN A FORMAL PRESENTATION LINE-UP AWAITING THE ARRIVAL OF PRINCESS MARY, POLITICIANS AND VARIOUS DIGNITARIES AT THE CHRISTIANBORG PALACE IN COPENHAGEN WHEN HE KEELED OVER. HE WAS DRAGGED TO HIS FEET BY SECURITY OFFICIALS WHO CARRIED HIM OFF BEFORE THE GUESTS ARRIVED. QUEEN MARGRETHE AND PRINCE CONSORT HENRIK WERE HOSTING THEIR ANNUAL PARTY FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE DANISH PARLIAMENT, AND THE SOLDIER WAS PART OF THE EVENING'S HONOUR GUARD.
