NASSAU COUNTY MUSEUM PRESENTS THE SUBJECT IS WOMEN: IMPRESSIONISM AND POST-IMPRESSIONISM


'THE SUBJECT IS WOMEN: IMPRESSIONISM AND POST-IMPRESSIONISM' OFFERS A LAVISH VIEWING OF WORKS BY WOMEN AND WORKS DEPICTING WOMEN. THE STUNNING AND SUMPTUOUS EXHIBITION DEMONSTRATES HOW ARTISTS OF THE MOVEMENTS AND ERAS DEPICT WOMEN, AND HOW MANY WOMEN ARTISTS DEPICT THEMSELVES. THE WORKS OF THE SHOW, MANY OF THEM VIBRANT OILS, INCLUDE RENOWNED MASTERS SUCH AS CASSATT, DEGAS, PISSARRO, RENOIR AS WELL AS OTHERS. DEGAS IS REPRESENTED BY 'DANSEUSE' (BUSTE); 'LA MARCHE DES GISORS' BY PISSARRO; 'JEUNES FILLES AUX LILAS' AND 'FEME NUE AUX COUSSINS VERTS' BY RENOIR AND 'LE MASQUE JAPONAIS' BY ALFRED STEVENS. WORKS BY WOMEN IMPRESSIONISTS AND POST IMPRESSIONISTS WILL ALSO INCLUDE MARY CASSATT'S 'LYONTINE IN A PINK FLUFFY HAT'. THE 57 STUNNING WORKS FOR THE SUBJECT IS WOMEN: IMPRESSIONISM AND POST-IMPRESSIONISM' ARE DRAWN FROM REMARKABLE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COLLECTIONS.
